The Prestige

Movieing on.................................

I very seldom recommend a movie because I think for the most part movies are a waste of money.
I must be a liar because I have two thousand vhs and 100 DVD's in my house, so nevermind the first part.

AJ and I went to see the Prestige last week. I heartily recommend it.
Three thumbs up.

It's plot twists and turns perfect casting and flawless period costumes and scenery
It's great subject matter.

Is there one among you who has never been fascinated by magic?

Is there a lady among you that never crushed on Christian Bale, Hugh Jackman or Michael Caine?

Is there a man among you not enamored with Piper Perabo or Scarlett Johanssen?

Okay, enough touting an industry I believe to be 95% waste of money with the exception of the great Indie films marketed to a lesser degree and an occasional blockbuster that somehow sucks me in.

The Prestige fall squarely into that other 5%.

Well, I guess I'll have to watch it when it hits the nearest rental store. We never go anywhere.

Anne: we are on our way to Kentucky to babysit. :o)

This was either a really good movie or we don't get out much. :o) haha

There were plot twists galore...some that didn't even make sense til hours later......

Oh yes, and David Bowie is in it too.....

I thought it would be wonderful, but only got halfway through it due to teens making lots of noise in the theatre. I finally gave up. I'll catch it on DVD. It looked great, though!

From the previews I saw, it looked like one I'd really like to see. Because of your review I believe I will.

We need all the recommendations we can get. We often walk out of Blockbuster empty handed.

Happy Halloween! Transport yourself to my blog for a ghostly story that actually happened to me...

Sounds like a good movie. My daughter showed some interest in that one, so I'm sure we will get around to seeing it.
So many movies are totally a waste of time and money. I am a movie fan though, so I can't complain too much. Like you, we own a LOT of movies.
Oh, I see that AJ says David Bowie is in the flick.
I've always thought Bowie was cool in a freaky kind of way.

I read the book a few years ago so knew what twists were coming...I think it affected my enjoyment.
